Christine Neilson, EA
Chief Operating Officer
Christine Neilson comes to Suma Financial Solutions from over 10 years of experience as the principal owner of her own financial services company, the Neilson Advisory Group, Inc. A Jill of all trades, Christine has extensive experience in the finance, insurance, and computer industries.
Prior to moving to the United States in 1991, Christine, a London native, fine-tuned her already exemplarily organizational and management experience by working for seven years in the computer industry as an operator and programmer. She then went on to become a Surveyor, where for several years she specialized in commercial real estate appraisal, acquisition, and development. She currently holds a California Real Estate License and is able to provide advice on all aspects of real estate.
In 1992, Christine earned a California Insurance License and has been helping businesses and individuals to find the best policies to fit their needs ever since, she is also an Enrolled Agent (E.A.) with the IRS.
Kenneth D. Smith
Chief Executive Officer
Kenneth D. Smith has more than 18 years of experience in the accounting and tax field. He began his career working as a Revenue Agent with the IRS, where he received extensive training in both individual and business tax matters. Following his tenure with the IRS, he worked in various senior level positions with companies such as Paramount Pictures Communications and the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles.
Among his long list of experiences and accomplishments, Kenneth has profitably managed the operations for multiple sites and departments, effectively overseen transactions between multiple contracts and year-end closes. He has provided accounting, technical support and training for directors and staff on fiscal management, budgeting, payroll processing, accounting, policy restructuring, grant and contract compliance with federal, state, and foundation funding sources, as well as successfully resolved several property tax disputes, resulting in over a $100,000 savings to the organization.
In addition to managing his own accounting and tax firm, Kenneth currently serves as the Controller for Pacific Coast Regional Small Business Development Corporation and as a board member for the Youth Development Partnership. For several years he also participated in the Voluntary Income Tax Assistant program (VITA) and served as treasurer for the National Association of Black Accountants. He is an Enrolled Agent (E.A.) with the IRS and a member of the National Society of Accountants.
